Centre for Entrepreneurship Education & Development Announces the Launch of the HubNS, Nova Scotia’s Thriving Online Business Community
July 10th, 2024 – Halifax, Nova Scotia ·
Halifax, NS: Entrepreneurship can be lonely, but luckily for entrepreneurs who call Nova Scotia home, an invaluable support system is now only a click away. The Centre for Entrepreneurship Education & Development (CEED) announced today the official launch of its newest offering to the growing business community, the HubNS, Nova Scotia’s thriving online business community and one-stop solution for every entrepreneur.
A destination for business owners to make connections, feel supported, have conversations, learn and grow, HubNS is free to join and will provide business owners access to free resources, tools, checklists and downloadable guides for its members. It will also feature paid courses and tools created and offered by CEED and Leveling it Up, a CEED program to support diverse, intersectional, and underserved women entrepreneurs. CEED alums will receive a subsidized rate when purchasing paid resources, while all eligible Leveling it Up participants can access paid courses and tools at zero cost.
“Entrepreneurs, at all stages of development, are focussed 24/7 on how they can improve the prospects for their business,” shared CEED President & CEO Craig MacMullin. “It isn’t easy to access help when inspiration strikes or when a question is plaguing you at 3 AM. While the CEED team is ready to help at any time, we created the HubNS for those times when we aren’t available. Our goal is to create a space where entrepreneurs can engage with other entrepreneurs and our team on resources, webinars, minicourses and longer programs. The entrepreneurs powering our economy don’t accept time and geography as limitations and they value conversation and information; the HubNS is an extension of our commitment to support those change-makers.”
HubNS has been in the making for the Nova Scotia business community for two years. The initial iteration of the HubNS was created in 2021 and focused only on connecting business owners. The team felt that it failed to meet the needs of entrepreneurs at that time, who were eager to network and keen on learning and developing their entrepreneurial skill sets, which CEED is well known for supporting. Two years later, with the help of a local software developer, Ashley Hickey, the HubNS is not only ready for the spotlight; it has everything business owners need to thrive in 2024 and beyond.
“Entrepreneurship can often feel like a solitary journey, filled with challenges and triumphs,” shared Ashley Hickey, Chief Technical Officer at ENZEBRA. “Yet, having a platform like the HubNS is akin to having a virtual water cooler—a destination where business owners can connect, learn, and grow together. It’s a space where we can share experiences, seek guidance, and forge valuable connections that fuel our entrepreneurial endeavours. The HubNS isn’t just a network; it’s a supportive community where every entrepreneur, regardless of their background or stage of development, can find resources, tools, and a supportive ecosystem to thrive. It’s an extension of our commitment to empowering change-makers and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Since its soft launch, the HubNS has already attracted over 380 members, and that number is growing daily. To learn more or to become a member, visit https://thehubns.ca.
