SEB Orientation
The Self-Employment Benefits (SEB) Program is a training program for individuals that are unemployed and receiving Employment Insurance or have received Employment Insurance in the past 3 years (5 years for a parental leave).
If you are interested in participating in the SEB Program, please refer to the Information Centre on our website to learn more about SEB and its application process.
Please Note: Only individuals who have visited a career resource centre and obtained a referral from a case manager there can attend the SEB Orientation.

Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) Tax Information Session
Canada has some of the world’s most respected business practices. The Canadian Revenue Agency is a leading regulatory body that contributes to establishing and maintaining these standards. This information session is a must-attend for new entrepreneurs, to gain insight and clarity into the CRA reporting process.
This workshop will:
• Introduce you to the Goods and Services Tax and how to complete your HST return
• Provide guidelines for reporting income for your unincorporated business and claiming expenses
• Review proper payroll structure and applicable deductions
• Introduce you to the CRA’s business e-services and My Business Account

Competitive Sales Tactics & Strategies
** You may be eligible for funding if your business is in the craft, manufacturing or service industry sector. To find out if you meet the criteria to qualify, please contact training@ceed.ca **
After this two-day workshop entrepreneurs will have discovered new options that will drive their sales revenue up and beyond previous targets. In addition you will have the chance to practice your sales tactic in role play situation.

Day 2 (January 9th, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm)
a. Practice your pitch - Practice makes perfect! Here is your chance to practice your sales pitch and presentation. Get ready for some constructive criticism that is going to assist you in your business meetings. Be it a PowerPoint, portfolio or verbal pitch we are giving you your 15 minutes of fame to hone your pitching skill.
