This training will encompass both classroom and hands-on experience with the Simply Accounting software. Simply Accounting Training Program OverviewSession One- Overview of accounting equation and financial statements
- Present typical business transactions (invoicing, purchases, receipts and payments)
- Review Simply Accounting home page and relate to typical transactions
- Chart of accounts and how it relates to financial statements
- Show elements of company set up on Simply Accounting (sample case company)
- Exercise – set up of case company
Session Two- Review fundamentals of inventory accounting and how it affects sales and purchases
- Show elements of inventory on Simply Accounting sample company
- Exercise – set up inventory of case company
Session Three- Review fundamentals of accounts receivable, sales and receipts
- Show elements of sales and receipts on Simply Accounting sample company
- Exercise – recording sales and receipts of case company
Session Four- Review fundamentals of accounts payable, purchase invoices and payments
- Show elements of purchases and payments on Simply Accounting sample company
- Exercise – recording purchases and payments of case company
Session Five- Review fundamentals of payroll accounting
- Show elements of payroll on Simply Accounting
- Show elements of making Government remittances
- Exercises
- Recording payroll on case company
- Making Government remittances (HST, WCB and employer remittances)
- Review fundamentals of project accounting and show how it is used on sample company
- Recording sales and purchases using projects on case company
Session Six- Review fundamentals of bank reconciliation’s
- Show elements of bank reconciliation on Simply Accounting
- Review financials statements and all other reporting on case company
- Review of any area of concerns for students
- Exercise: perform bank reconciliation on case company
